Tour Overview
Sittong is a small village near Darjeeling. It is about 1 and half hour journey from NJP. It is located at an altitude of 4000ft. It is surrounded by a luxuriant orange orchard. The serenity and calmness of the place are ideal to spend alone time. You can also have a spectacular view of Kanchanjangha from Sittong.
Lepchajagat is a little town situated in the wilderness at an elevation of 6,956 ft and just 19kms away from Darjeeling town. Despite the fact that it’s very near Darjeeling’s main center point and takes just around 45 minutes by cab, it has its very own world.
Tinchuley is a little mountain town (rather a villa) in Darjeeling locale and situated at an elevation of 5,800ft, and only 3kms above Takdah. The word Tinchuley implies Three Ovens (for example Tin Chullahs). Also, such a name to the town has been given as a result of the three noticeable slopes best that surround the spot and which from far look like stoves or chullahs. Tinchuley faces the Kalimpong hiils.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1-NJP to Sittong Khasmahal (Ahaldara or Ghaleytar or Turuk or Maldiram)
Pickup from New Jalpaiguri Station/Bagdogra Airport & transfer Sittong region (Distance 45km take arround 2.30hrs). Overnight at Ahaldara or Ghaleytar or Turuk or Maldiram.
Day 2-Sightseeing of Sittong area
Morning visit Orange gardens, Sittong church, Old Monastery, Mungpoo, the Cinchona village made famous by Rabindranath Tagore is just 8 km from Sittong. Latpanchar is about 7 km, Chatakpur is about 22 km away and Kurseong is also about 24 km drive. You can spend several days in the village and explore all the tourist destinations in and around from here. Overnight at Sittong area.
Day 3- Sittong to Lepchajagat 65km & Visit Jorpokhri & Ghum Monastery
Morning Transfer to Lepchajagat (Distance 65km take arround 2.30hrs). Lepchajagat is a small village located in wilderness at an altitude of 6,956 ft and only 19kms away from Darjeeling hill town.
Day 4- Lepchajagat to Takdah Cantonment area & visit Lamahatta & Tinchuley
Tinchuley is a small mountain village (rather a hamlet) in Darjeeling district and located at an altitude of 5,800ft, and just 3kms above Takdah.
Morning sightseeing Tinchuley Sunrise Point, Tinchuley Monastery, Practice rock climbing in Gumbadara Viewpoint, tea gardens, Chotamangwa & transfer to Takdah (Distance 75km take around 2.30hrs).Night Stay at Takdah.
Day 5- Takdah to NJP
Early Morning after breakfast transfer to Jalpaiguri Station/Bagdogra Airport
